the Dignified Malamute . . .

The various pictures on this page are my various furry dollies! During the ten years I've had Alaskan Malamutes, I've acquired a lot of photographs and these are some of my favorites!

Summer 2008 Litter!

If you are interested in acquiring a baby 'furry dolly' (aka an Alaskan Malamute puppy), then please fill out an application. No application, no furry dolly. A litter is planned for Ms Ooky. The applications are under the PUPPIES link.

New Titles!

Bert n' Ernie had a special outing and each earned Canine Good Neighbour (CGNs) certificate at the end of May. The following day Ernie and Ooky (Bert is sound-shy so he didn't get to try) were able to attempt their Temperament Tests (TTs) certificates. Now all the furry dollies have a title of some kind!

Early Spay and Neuter

You can find many references to juvenile spay and neuter in my site. It is especially damaging to females to spay them too young (as in under one or two years of age, depending on the breed)! Juvenile spay and neuter causes widespread system damage to dogs of both sexes and there are many hundreds of studies available to substantiate such a claim. Please also see Tala's story. However, please also see the scientific and academic links in this article:

Disease, aggression and health problems from early spay and neuter.

Ooky is my fourth Alaskan Malamute. I learned about conformation showing with her. She has four conformation titles, several Group placements and several legs toward various working titles and several Temperament certifications. The VIDEO is now on YouTube - click the VIDEO link directly below.

Yukonjak's Ernie, CGN, TT

Ernie is a soft, gentle, quiet leader. He is the alpha and is neutered. Bert and Ernie are inseparable. While most male Alaskan Malamutes DO NOT favor the companionship of each another, these two are an exception. It gave me 'furry dollies' who are way more fun than Barbie dolls!

Dirty Bert, CGN

Dirty Bert is his AKC registered name and he is neutered, too. His breeder didn't have a kennel name so he is only Dirty Bert. Bert flew in on a plane from the USA. He wouldn't come out of the crate when he arrived. Although his breeders were happy he came to me, and I happy with them, both of us, and Baby Bertie, suffered trauma from shipping the Malamute puppy.

Yukonjak's Tala

The TalaGatorTala was the first Alaskan Malamute. She died of osteosarcoma, more commonly called bone cancer. Cancer and aggression problems in females are widely and extensively linked to early spay and neuter. There are dozens of completed studies, involving thousands of dogs, and multiple other species, that directly link dramatic increases in cancer (males and females), diseases (males and females), and aggression (females only), along with growth and structure ailments (males and females). There are some links to such things on Tala's page. Never, ever, ever again will I spay or neuter a dog under one year of age!
