About Little Man Ernie . . .

Little Man Ernie was the second Alaskan Malamute. When he arrived, he was to be the exclusive companion for the TalaGator. Ernie is an extraordinary, submissive, patient, smart little guy.

I suppose some people would think of him as large and I really don't know why. He floats around 95 - 105 pounds these days. Ernie is also from Yukonjak Alaskan Malamutes. With Ernie, I learned about weight pulling -- and it was entirely by accident! I took Ernie to Pack and Pull one year and he pulled a few hundred pounds. I thought that was kind of fun, so I took him back the next year. He pulled almost 1300 pounds and won the entire event, beating all the dogs larger and smaller than him. Ummm, ok, so Little Man likes weight pull! Off we go to every snow and dirt pull I can find in the province of Ontario. In all he has about six gold medals, two silvers and a few first and second places from Pack and Pulls, Apsley Winterfests, IWPA pulls, and Marmora Snowfests.

A lot of his looks seem to come from the Storm Kloud line he is bred from. While Ernie's mother (Yukonjak's Spooky Boo) is Ooky's grandmother (Ooky is like a twin of Spooky), Ernie and Spooky are not even remotely alike. He is very much like his dad, Odie (Yukonjak's Red Joker). Many of the Yukonjak dogs are founded in Storm Kloud, in addition to other lines.
